| 2009 Gauteng eSports Championships |

The Gauteng eSports Championships shall be held at Wits University, Old Mutual Sports Hall on 21 and 22 March 2009 by the Wits Wargames Club in co-operation with The Lair. Registrations will close Wednesday 18th March 2009. The championships shall start on both days at 09H00. Players need to confirm their presence at the venue with umpires at least 30 minutes before the start of play. Please remember that the MSSA LAN Championships are the only officially recognised Local-Area-Network (LAN) Championships. The Computer Games that shall be played are as follows:
Medals shall be awarded to the following: Premier (overall): 1st, 2nd, and 3rd University teams: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd High School: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Added to the above, players are able to earn Provincial Colours. Should players win all their games, players automatically earn Provincial Colours. Not only that, but all players that finish in the top 20% automatically qualify to participate in National Team trials. Of course the Team Trials for any game shall only be held if all the criteria in terms of participation are met. It is only through participating in the National Team Trials that players can qualify for official team selection and Protea Colours. To participate in a MSSA Online Computer Games League/Championship you need to have completed the following items:
Entry fees are: R100.00 per Computer Game, e.g. Starcraft, Counter Strike, etc. Only players who are registered with fully-paid-up members (clubs) may participate.
