| In conjuntion to this year's AfriCon an Official International Computer Games Test Match between the South African Protea Computer Games Team and SK Gaming will be played on Friday 5th December 2008 in Johannesburg. Spectators are free and additional details will be released shortly. |
Computer Games to be played at AfriCon:
- Call of Duty 4: Modern WarfareTM (Saturday 6th December 2008)
- Warcraft IIITM: Defense of the Ancients (Sunday 7th December 2008)
To participate, Teams must fill in the AfriCon registration form before the deadline of 1st December 2008. Teams that submit forms before the 15th November 2008 deadline will receive a free AfriCon Polo Shirt, late entries will be accepted until the 1st December 2008. The price per Team to participate in the Call of Duty 4 Championship or the Defense of the Ancients Championship is R850.00. Please note that no registrations will be accepted at the event itself. Spectators are R50.00 for over 18s and R20.00 for juniors (This can be paid at the event).
PLEASE NOTE: Due to agreements with our sponsors, no ambush advertising will be accepted, i.e. Players may not bring any branded items or clothing not approved by the tournament organisers or in conflict with tournament sponsors; for example equipment may not have additional branded stickers. Players will be unable to partake in the event if the player is in possession of such branded items or clothing.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE: THERE ARE NO QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO ENTER THIS EVENT. IT IS AN OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP!

- What to Bring
- Your own PC, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, mousepad, headphones
- A Multiplug adaptor,
- PC Power cable,
- PC Drivers, Software, and Game discs, (please update your game at home).
- Warm jersey, blanket, etc since the venue is cool.
International Wargames Federation (IWF) individual player medals and team shields will be awarded in the following categories:
- African Championship Teams in first, second and third place,
- Female Championship Teams in first, second and third place, and
- Junior Championship Teams in first, second and third place.
As the event is being held on the University of the Witwatersrand premises, parking is readily available and security will be provided. Refreshments will be on sale.
